Miranda Carogallo: style, comfort and a life on horseback

The Argentinian equestrian on training, competitions, and her choice of riding boots.

From childhood fascination to a lifelong passion, Miranda Carogallo’s journey in the equestrian world is one of dedication, resilience, and love for the sport. After exploring motorsports for a time, she found her way back to horses, making them an essential part of her daily life. In this interview, she shares how show jumping became more than just a sport, the choices she makes for comfort and performance, and her plans for the future—both in and out of the competition ring.

How did you get into show jumping?
Since I was 8 years old, I’ve always been fascinated by horses. A few years later, I switched sports and dedicated myself to motorsports. Then, after becoming a mother, I returned to horses and started accompanying my daughters in this activity.

You are a very active woman. How did you incorporate show jumping into your routine?
That’s true! I integrated it as a way of life, a daily activity, a moment of learning, relaxation, and enjoyment with nature, my horses, and myself.

You chose short boots. Is there a reason why you prefer them over tall ones?
Short boots, besides the design and materials we selected together with Meraviglia, are very comfortable for daily activities around the stables, in the fields, before and after riding, or even paired with chaps for training sessions.
I highly recommend them…

Are you currently competing, or do you have any competitions scheduled?
In Argentina, it’s summer now, and during this time of the year, riders usually take a short break before the new competition calendar begins.

What are your upcoming projects in show jumping?
Some time ago, I sold a horse that I had been training since he was a year and a half old, so that project came to an end. Then there was my first mare, who taught me so much, brought me joy, and even some frustrations, which helped me keep learning and never give up. She showed me that with effort, dedication, patience, and perseverance, anything is possible.
We shared so many moments together, and this summer, I had to make a tough decision: I decided to retire her so she could enjoy a well-deserved new life.
Let’s see what new projects 2025 will bring!
