Thank you for joining us today Santi. Let’s start from the beginning: how did you get involved in polo?
Polo has always been part of my life because of my family. My father plays as well, so it’s something that has been passed down through generations.
What’s your favorite part about the sport?
I’m passionate about horses, and polo is like a bonus. Honestly, I don’t know anyone who’s tried the sport and didn’t love it. It’s incredibly fun!
Are there certain games that you enjoy more than others?
I believe all matches are enjoyable, but high-level games are particularly exciting. You get to test yourself against players who are really skilled, and that makes the experience even better.
Equipment is an important part of any sport. How does it play a role in your experience with polo?
Equipment is very special in this sport, but for me, boots are the most crucial.
What makes the boots so important for you?
I like boots that have good firmness in the sole to ensure stability. I also prefer them to be harder on the outside than the inside for better support during the game.
Do you have specific requirements when getting your boots made?
I request that they have three layers on the outside and two on the inside. This way, I feel more protected when I collide with another player during a match.
